Duplicated Animals
APHA have asked us to advise OVs and ATTs to check more thoroughly when submitting (and certifying) tests, we are receiving a large number of animals being duplicated and entered on multiple parts.
This not only shows the animals as tested twice, but also creates and incorrect payment. Ending in numerous datafixes and extra work for all parties.
APHA are monitoring trends and will consider repeat instances more seriously than one off cases.
BTV Report Cases
We have seen a large number of Inspection Report cases with the Iechyd Da region.
We know that a number of you have experienced delays trying to report to APHA and receiving the paperwork.
Iechyd Da is prioritising forwarding these emails to the correct practice.
Please can all practices ensure that they are completing the cases within the 3 working days and returning both completed forms to Iechyd Da to ensure that the practice receives payment
Test submission times & KPI’s
A large number of KPI’s have been raised over the last couple of months. Most of these are due to late submission.
When completing tests please ensure that you use the correct WSA – Trace animals, PRMT etc.
Please ensure that you are entering your tests in time, if you need an AVS sign off please ensure that they are aware the test is ready for signing. If your main AVS is away please ensure that you send to your deputy!
All non bovine tests, must be submitted on SAM and test sheets returned correctly to avoid a KPI. Please ensure that you copy Iechyd Da into the test sheet submission.
If you experience a handheld issue, or SAM technical problem please obtain an incident number as this can go against the KPI

What is the impact of Bluetongue in the UK in 2026? – an industry-led survey.
We are aware of how sever an impact BTV3 is having on livestock industries in the UK in 2026. We want to hear from all farmers to understand how BTV has impacted flocks and herds whether you have had confirmation of bluetongue in your stock or not.
We are al interested to hear your views on vaccinating against BTV, so the industry can support and prepare for the disease’s on-going impact.

Personnel List
Iechyd Da uses the personnel list to determine new starters that are required to attend a QA course along with sending vital information on TB testing, including changes or issues.
Can all practices please ensure that your personnel lists are current and up to date. Ensuring that all contact details are completed to include emails and telephone numbers.
If you have a vet that has moved practices, then please contact the office to ask for the details to be transferred, this will ensure they have all of the audit details.

Aber Tb Conference
Iechyd da will sponsor free places for one vet and one ATT per practice for the up and coming Aber Tb conference.
The theme this year is TB policies in the home nations.
If you put in on your booking form ID Special rate Iechyd da will get a discount.
The cost is £85 per person, Iechyd Da will reimburse you two places if you send us copies of your invoices, but the more rhat come the merrier because it’s a great event for CPD and networking.
